Ok, so you have your ticket and you want to get a license plate that has your call sign and “Amateur Radio” underneath it.  This can easily be done in Pennsylvania, all you need to do is fill out Motor Vehicle Form 904 (MV 904) from PennDOT.  Only sections A, C, and E need to be completed for an amateur radio license plate.  The cost for any personalized plate is $20, plus your standard registration (This form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).  These really help spread the word about amateur radio.  I was once at a dinner with my XYL and got talking to an X-HAM in the parking lot about radios and getting back into it.  So some people do pay attention.

That form is on my server, and if PennDOT ever updates it, it may take me some time before I can update my site with the new form.  For the most up to date information, you can visit PennDOT’s form section at:

The ARRL also has some good information regarding costs of amateur radio license plates.  They cover all 50 states and have some good links.
